European Excellence Meets American Vision
Starting this farm was about embracing new beginnings and following a dream I’ve had for a very long time. The moon reference is a tribute to a very special person in my life who has always supported me and was loved “to the moon and back again”.
The waning crescent moon is the final phase before the new moon. It is a time to let go, a time to reflect on lessons learned, and a time to express gratitude before the cycle starts again- fitting in so many ways for this endeavor!
Waning Crescent Farm is dedicated to producing dressage horses of international caliber.
We strongly believe that American-bred dressage horses can rival Europe’s best. That belief drives every decision we make — from the mares we keep, to the stallions we select, to the partners we trust with their training and presentation.
Our mares represent some of the most influential dam lines in modern sport horse breeding — including Weihegold OLD, Gesina, and Egale — families renowned for producing licensed stallions and Grand Prix competitors.
The program is intentionally divided between Germany and the United States, allowing us to both benchmark our offspring against the world’s best and to leverage connections to leading European professionals.
Our German-based mares, Mary Lou and Imperia, produce foals that are bred, prepared and trained through the European licensing and performance test systems.
In the United States, Waning Crescent Farm maintains a growing base of highly decorated mares — including Weihami, Be My Love, and Sheona — all of whom achieved exceptional inspection or performance results in Germany. Their offspring are inspected through the American Hanoverian Society, with the goal of advancing into young horse programs and, ultimately, higher-level sport.
Together, these two halves form one unified program — grounded in the precision of European breeding tradition and inspired by the optimism and innovation of the American dream.
