Waning Crescent Farm
Starting this farm was about embracing new beginnings and following a dream I’ve had for a very long time. The moon reference is a tribute to a very special person in my life who has always supported me and was loved “to the moon and back again”.
The waning crescent moon is the final phase before the new moon. It is a time to let go, a time to reflect on lessons learned, and a time to express gratitude before the cycle starts again- fitting in so many ways for this endeavor!
Breeding Goals: Horses with International Quality that are Sound in Body and Mind
As both a breeder and rider, my goal is to breed the kind of horse I like to watch as well as to ride. To me this means they have the following traits:
Great minds - Horses who enjoy their work and have the right level of sensitivity for professionals and ambitious amateurs.
Three very good gaits - Complete horses, with three very good gaits. No front ends and hind ends that do not match.
Soundness - Having felt the heartbreak of trying to bring along an unsound horse, we avoid breeding to horses with major conformational flaws or a predisposition to unsoundness.
Balance - Naturally uphill and balanced in transitions within and between gaits.
